 Helping Girls Enjoy Scouting
Dalyn Development, Inc. has helped over 40,000 girls discover
the fun of scouting through its very successful workshop programs. We
conduct Junior and Cadette/Senior (Older
Girl 11-17)
workshops for
girls
in scouting. We offer programs in a fast-paced, hands-on workshop environment,
many focused on
math and science. Each program is designed to encourage critical
thinking skills while the girls have a lot of fun.
About Math & Science
Are you uncomfortable in assisting your girls to
earn a badge or Try-It in math or science? Relax, you are not alone. Many leaders do not
feel they have the necessary knowledge or experience. Many of Dalyn Development, Inc. workshops
are designed to meet the needs of your troop in earning badges and Try-Its in the math and
science areas. Did you know that women earn about $.78 for every
$1.00 a man earns and fewer than 20% of all college graduates in the math and sciences are
women? In grade school girls often exceed boys in math ability but by the time they take
college admission tests, boys score an average of 50 points higher than girls on the math
portion. An early
positive experience with math and science gives the girls confidence to pursue these subjects in school. This is
also an opportunity to develop new skills in a non-traditional area which helps to boost
self-esteem.
Badge Workshops
Dalyn’s badge workshops allows scouts to complete requirements for Junior Patches and Cadette/Senior (Older
Girl 11-17) Interest Projects. The workshop fee includes all program materials and the appropriate patch. Also offered are special programs for hard-to-earn areas such as Sign of the
World and Sign of the
Rainbow.For Juniors we also offer the Basically
Bronze Workshop to assist scouts in earning the much coveted Bronze Award.
Cadettes/Seniors (Older Girls 11-17) Workshops
These workshops, for Cadettes & Seniors, complete requirements for Interest Projects.
The workshop fee includes all program materials and the appropriate interest project patch. Topics covered include Paper Works, Travel and Just
Jewelry. Some IPs are also offered in the summer- please see the schedule.To assist in completion of the Silver
Award, Cadettes & Seniors should consider attending the Your
Own Business IP workshop.
Workshop Locations
Workshops are conducted at convenient
facilities in Anaheim and Yorba Linda.
